Loo-hoo!
I left Taupo this morning with no particular destination in mind, just north. Thought I'd get just outside Auckland to drop my bags tomorrow.
I'd never driven that particular stretch of State Highway 1 , and when I got to a town called Tirau, I just had to stop.
My admiration for the kiwis and their commitment to public hygiene just went off the scales.
The public loo:
The dairy:
The car mechanic:
The wool shop:
The cafes:
After my happy little photo shoot in the corrugated town of Tirau (like pie, these things are so much better when shared) I asked Xena where we should spend our last nights together, and here we are, back in Raglan.
Happy daylight savings week-- drink more coffee.
